The particular strength of this course will be the ample opportunity to be examined by course tutors under examination conditions in small groups. You will receive specific feedback throughout the day on your performance using PACES mark sheets such that we can focus on weak points that you may have. We use both actual patients and actors in the simulations. Key Points: small ratio of tutor to candidates role-play scenarios continuous feedback what the examiners are looking for & how to score well in these stations all tutors have extensive experience teaching PACES for the MRCP Furthermore, we shall focus on areas that candidates particularly find difficult: Confidentiality Informed consent Legal issues e.g. DVLA guidelines for fitness-to-drive How to give information to patients Breaking bad news Euthanasia, DNR orders, withdrawing/withholding treatments |
